My mentality in Junk Removal switched when I started treating each job like a treasure hunt.

I’m a movie guy and whenever I get a chance I love to end the night watching a movie with my wife, Ive been on a Pirates of the Caribbean wave lately and I’ve started to think like this…

The Black Pearl is our Junk vehicle and I’m Captain Jack Sparrow.

Each Junk Job has treasure, its your job to find it.

In SOME cases you may have to dump everything but for 90% of our jobs they can be broken down into these 4 categories;

Resell, Keep, Donate, Dump.

Heres a quick breakdown of each section;

Resell – Items you can fix up and sell on Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp, or Craigslist for extra income. (This also includes the scrapyard)
Keep – Something useful you want to keep for yourself (tools, supplies, storage bins).
Give – Items in good shape you can donate to places like Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, or local churches.
Dump – Trash that can’t be reused and needs to go to the landfill/yard

We have paid Dump fees in San Antonio, Tx ranging from $124-$224. The closer we get to $0 the higher our profits are.

Remember the MAIN objective is to be fast and efficient when you’re at the customers property so in order to do that while separating the job into the 4 categories you must PLAN AHEAD!

I cant stress enough how much more efficient you will be if you go to the job site with a plan of attack.

The next time you get a lead for a junk job do this…

When you arrive to do your free quote look through everything, then regroup with your crew on how you will separate everything in the 4 categories I talked about above, send the customer the junk job quote and then attack.

I explain all this in our free 7 step guide “From $0 to $1000 Junk Removal Business”. If you haven’t grabbed a copy of it ill attach it below!

Now go be great.
I’m counting on you…. Savvy?
